Add potatoes and salt mix it well, while mixing mash few pieces of potatoes that will give thickness to gravy. It is made of potatoes and peas in a spicy thick onion tomato gravy. Here mushroom, potatoes and handful green peas (matar) are cooked in coarsely ground paste of onion, tomatoes, ginger, garlic, green chilies and I like to add some curd in this, it gives a thick consistency to my gravy. It's a rich and delicious gravy curry with a sauce made creamy through the addition of milk or cream and butter.

  1. In a heavy bottom pan, add oil, fry the onions till translucent
  2. Add the potators and fry for 4-5mins, add green chillies, mushrooms and fry for another 5 mins
  3. Add the green peas and mix well
  4. Add the tumeric powder, red chilli powder, garam masala powder abd salt. Mix well and cook for 5 to 10 mins
  5. Add the chopped tomatoes and cook on medium high flame
  6. Once the tomatoes cooks well and becomes juicy, add the water and cook on medium flame for 15 -20 mins till the potatoes are cooked.
  7. Serve with plain rice or pulao or even chapathi
