In large bowl, mix Meatloaf ingredients well. In a small bowl, combine the first six ingredients. Crumble beef over mixture and mix well. This Cracker Barrel Meatloaf is classic comfort food made with ground beef, onions, bell pepper, cheddar cheese, Ritz crackers and a sweet, savory glaze on top!

  2. Get 1/2 cup italian bread crumbs

  4. Make ready 2 tbsp worcestershire sauce
  5. Prepare 1 salt and pepper to taste
  6. Prepare 2 lb ground chuck
  7. Prepare 2 small cans plain tomato sauce
  8. Get 1/4 to a half cup more ketchup (for the top)
  9. Prepare 1 optional~10 to 12 queen(large) stuffed green olives sliced in half (length way)

Best way to tell when a meatloaf is done is to use an instant-read thermometer. Add dried bread crumbs and some diced onion. Add milk, an egg, ketchup, and worcestershire sauce. The best way ensure it is cooked through is to use a meat thermometer.

Instructions to make Simple meat loaf:
  1. Mix the first 5 ingredients in a large bow
  2. Add the ground beef and olives, mix. The less you work the meat the better. It will make it dense if you mash it around to much.
  3. Form your meat mixture into a loaf in a baking pan. I use a glass pyrex…about 8 x 12
  4. You can also leave the olives whole and make a trench down the center.. lay them end to end. Then cover them over with the meat mix. It looks nice when you cut it.
  5. Pour the two cans of tomato sauce over.
  6. Squirt ketchup across the top over the tomato sauce. As much as you like! This makes a nice thick topping.
  7. Bake 350 covered for about 40 minutes. (Tent the foil so you dont lose that nice top!)
  8. Let stand about 10 minutes.
  9. I serve with sour cream mashies, drenched with that lovely tomato gravy

Add milk, an egg, ketchup, and worcestershire sauce. The best way ensure it is cooked through is to use a meat thermometer. Most people who replace their ground beef with buffalo, in recipes like meatballs, burgers, and meatloaf, are usually disappointed. Ground buffalo is much leaner than ground beef, which is the biggest challenge. Don't mash or the meat loaf will be dense.
