Stir in beef broth, tomato paste, Worcestershire, thyme, rosemary, paprika, caraway seeds and bay leaves until well combined; season with salt and pepper, to taste. Cube, season, and flour the beef. Place in a large bowl and season with the salt.

  1. Heat 2 tbs of oil over medium heat
  2. Add flour and beef to a gallon sized bag and shake until well coated
  3. Add floured beef to the skillet and season with salt and pepper. Stir until browned.
  4. Meanwhile chop the onion, carrots, celery, and potatoes. Then add to the slow cooker.
  5. Next the beef should be done. Pour the cooked beef over the veggies.
  6. Return the skillet to the stove and deglaze the pan with all the crunchy bits with the beef broth.
  7. Add the tomato paste or stew starter and the Italian season and a little pepper and a pinch or salt.
  8. Pour it over the beef and veggies. Add stew seasoning packet and stir.
  9. Cook on low for 8 hrs or high for 4hrs.
  10. The last 20 minutes you can add canned or frozen veggies such and corn, peas, or green beans. Whatever you like.

Cube, season, and flour the beef. Place in a large bowl and season with the salt. This traditional Beef Stew is the best Slow Cooker recipe for Fall and Winter.
