Punjabi Kadhi Pakora is one of the most popular North Indian dishes! Deep fried fritters (pakora) are I am sharing my absolute favorite way to make the best Punjabi Kadhi Pakora at home. A Kadhi recipe which is a family heirloom recipe. This fabulous Kadhi Pakora is my mother in law's treasured recipe of making the traditional Punjabi Kadhi with onion pakora.

The ingredients needed to make Kadhi:
  1. Take For The Pakodas
  2. Get 1 cup besan
  3. Prepare 2 tbsp finely chopped coriander leaves
  4. Prepare 2 long thinly sliced onions
  5. Get 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  6. Take 1 pinch baking soda
  7. Make ready 1 tsp cumin seeds
  8. Take 1 tsp finely chopped green chillies
  9. Prepare to taste salt
  10. Make ready oil for deep-frying
  11. Prepare For The Kadhi
  12. Prepare 2 cups whisked curds
  13. Take 3 tbsp besan
  14. Take 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  15. Prepare to taste salt
  16. Prepare 1 tbsp oil
  17. Get 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
  18. Prepare 2 cloves
  19. Get 1 small stick cinnamon
  20. Get 1/4 tsp fenugreek seeds
  21. Prepare 1/2 tsp coriander seeds
  22. Get 4-6 curry leaves
  23. Take 2 whole dry kashmiri red chillies, broken into pieces
  24. Get 1/2 tsp ginger paste
  25. Make ready 1/2 tsp chilli powder
  26. Get For The Garnish
  27. Prepare 2 tbsp finely chopped coriander

Kadhi Pakori Recipe: Kadhi is a popular north Indian dish, made with besan and yogurt as main ingredients along with various spices with gram flour pakodas dipped in it. Kadhi and Khichdi - A nutritious and comforting meal, home cooked by my mom is In winters, we enjoyed Khichdi with a piping hot bowl of yogurt based soupkadhi and in the summer it was served. Kadhi Chawal (Kadhi served with boiled rice) from India. Gujarati and Rajasthani kadhi differs from the Uttar Pradesh variety.

Instructions to make Kadhi:
  1. For the pakodas - - Combine all the ingredients along with approx. ½ cup of water in a deep bowl and mix well to make a thick batter.
  2. Heat the oil in a deep non-stick pan and drop spoonfuls of the batter into the hot oil and deep-fry a few at a time till they turn golden brown in colour from all the sides.
  3. When fried drain them out on an absorbent paper
  4. For the kadhi - - Combine the curds, besan, turmeric powder, salt and 2 cups of water in a deep bowl and whisk well using a whisk. Keep aside.
  5. Heat the oil in a deep non-stick pan, add the cumin seeds, cloves, cinnamon, fenugreek seeds, coriander seeds, curry leaves and kashmiri dry red chillies and sauté on a medium flame for a few seconds.
  6. Now on high flame, add the curds-besan mixture, ginger paste, chilli powder and a little salt, mix well and cook on a medium flame for 3 to 4 minutes, while stirring continuouly till the mixture comes to boil. Let it boil for 4-5 minutes then lower the flame and let it cook fr another 15 minutes or till the rawness of besan is gone.
  7. Give tadka of mustard & red chilli whole just before serving. Garnish with green coriander
  8. Serve hot with rice

Kadhi Chawal (Kadhi served with boiled rice) from India. Gujarati and Rajasthani kadhi differs from the Uttar Pradesh variety. Traditionally, it is little sweeter than the other variants.
