  1. Get 1 small bottle gourd chopped
  2. Make ready 1 tomato chopped
  3. Prepare 2 garlic pods
  4. Make ready 1 tsp urad dal
  5. Make ready 1 tsp mustard seeds
  6. Make ready 1/4 tsp hing
  7. Prepare leaves Curry
  8. Take Little tamarind and salt as per taste
  9. Make ready Handful coriander leaves
  10. Make ready For dry roast :
  11. Get 2 tsp chana dal
  12. Get 2 tsp urad dal
  13. Prepare 1 tsp cumin seeds
  14. Prepare 3-4 red chillies
  15. Make ready 1 tsp coriander seeds

It is an everyday vegetable which can be used to make sabzi, dal, pulao and many other dishes. Here, I have only made plain bottlegourd chutney but to the same chutney but, we can also add sesame seeds/nuvvulu podi to the sorakaya chutney to A side dish chutney or pachadi recipe made with bottle gourd/sorakaya/sorakkai and this chutney goes best with steamed rice and is served. Then add curry leaves + turmeric + asafetida + sambar powder and mix well. Instructions to make Bottle gourd (Sorakkai) Chutney:
  1. In a pan, roast all dry roast ingredients until it turns light brown color and keep it aside.
  2. In the same pan, add 1 tsp oil,tomato, bottle gourd and cook until it turns soft.
  3. Once it is cooked, add tamarind,garlic,salt, coriander leaves and for another 2 mins.
  4. Let it cook down completely. Grind everything together to a smooth paste in mixie jar.
  5. In a tadka pan, add 2 tbsp oil or ghee,mustard seeds,urad dal,curry leaves,hing and let it splutter. Then add the ground chutney and saute until oil is absorbed completely.
  6. This taste very yummyyy with rice or side dish for any tiffin items.
