  1. Prepare 1 Corned Beef brisket (with the spice packet)
  2. Get 1 (12 oz) Guinness black lager beer
  3. Get 2.5 cups Water
  4. Make ready 1 Onion sliced
  5. Prepare 6 Garlic cloves smashed
  6. Take Creole mustard
  7. Take 3 Tblsp butter
  8. Take Carrots
  9. Take Red potatoes (small)
  10. Make ready Green Cabbage sliced
  11. Take Thyme
  12. Take Bayleaves
  13. Prepare Whole grain mustard dipping sauce (optional)

If it came with a spice packet, sprinkle it over the top, then sprinkle on the black pepper and rub it in. Check the cabbage to see if it is tender. You shouldn't undercook it and it's hard to overcook it. Remove vegetables from slow cooker with a slotted spoon.

Steps to make Corned Beef and Cabbage:
  1. Place the onion, garlic, and butter in the pot
  2. Place your brisket (fat side down) on top of that with the lifting handles
  3. Rub Creole mustard all over the top of brisket and add the spice packet
  4. Next pour your beer and water in the sides (I only had Coors light)
  5. Close the pot and make sure you put the valve in the sealing position and set it for 120 minutes on pressure cook (I had a 4.10 pound brisket)
  6. Once the brisket is done lift it out of the pot to rest and cover with foil
  7. Next add in your potatoes, carrots, cabbage, bay leaves and thyme, close the lid and set on pressure cook for 3 minutes
  8. When that is done serve together with the brisket and ENJOY ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜‹
  9. Don't forget to cut against the grain !!

You shouldn't undercook it and it's hard to overcook it. Remove vegetables from slow cooker with a slotted spoon. Serve corned beef on platter with vegetables. Spoon a little of the cooking liquid over corned beef and vegetables, and serve some of the au jus on the side. A corned beef and cabbage dinner are great for feeding a large group and only requires one pot so think casual entertaining, tailgating, and potlucks.
