  1. Take 2 Cups cabbage, thinly shredded
  2. Take 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
  3. Get 3/4 cup besan, gram flour
  4. Make ready 1/4 cup rice flour
  5. Get 1 tsp kashmiri red chilli powder / lal mirch powder
  6. Get 1/4 tsp turmeric powder / haldi
  7. Get pinch hing / asafoetida
  8. Make ready 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste
  9. Prepare few curry leaves, chopped
  10. Prepare As per taste salt
  11. Make ready As required oil for deep frying
Steps to make Cabbage pakoda:
  1. Firstly, in a large mixing bowl take 2 cups of shredded cabbage and 1 sliced onion. - further add ¾ cup besan. also, add ¼ cup rice flour. alternatively use cornflour to make it more crispy.
  2. Additionally, add 1 tsp chilli powder, ¼ tsp turmeric, a pinch of hing, 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste, few curry leaves and salt to taste. combine and mix well without adding any water. - also, squeeze the cabbage to get the moisture out from it.
  3. The cabbage and onions will release moisture and make the dough moist. - form a dough, add 2 tsp of water if required. - now take a small ball sized dough and drop it into the hot oil.
  4. Make sure to spread the dough and not pile up one over another. - fry on medium flame stirring occasionally. - also, fry till the pakodas turn crisp and golden brown. - finally, serve crispy cabbage pakoda with tomato sauce along with masala tea.
